SEPTEMBER 2007
Hi to Pack 341 families,
First and foremost, I hope everyone had a fun but
safe summer. We have the August pack meeting scheduled for Monday night, Aug. 27. Don't forget to bring an empty plastic
bottle to use as a rocket. The coke shape works best. Please no 2 liter ones. They take too much time and water
to fill. Bottle rocket launching will be followed by ice cream sundaes.
School has started and I'm sure you are wondering
when regular scout meetings will start up again. It seems we drew the short straw so the boy talks in Wilt and Luhr won't
occur until Sept 10.
On Wednesday, Sept 12. ,7:00 PM, we will hold the recruitment night at the church. I need
all leaders to be there in order to facilitate answering questions, greeting new scouts and their families and possibly adding
to existing or generating new dens. If any scout wants to attend that night, we can use your help and you will receive
a recruiter patch as well.
Then on Sept. 17, we will have our annual parent night for returning and new parents.
This is where we discuss pack policy, hand out the yearly calendar, learn of youth protection, whiile having the boys outside
doing age related activities. The pack committee will be conducting the inside parent orientation but I need all den
leaders to plan activities for their age boys. Since all incoming Tiger parents need to be inside, I will also need
extra help outside with the new Tigers. All den chiefs are encouraged to be there to help out also.
The following
Monday, Sept. 24 is a pack meeting. Summer related activity beads and awards will be handed out.
Sept. 29 is the McNeely
Lake clean-up. Mark your calendars.
Oct. 1 would have been our first actual den meeting, but the committee has planned
a bike rodeo for that night.
